Who We Are

The Union of Pinnacle Tenants (UPT) is the largest tenant-led union in New York City.

We span four boroughs, bringing tenants together from Flatbush to Wakefield and from Jackson Heights to Inwood. Together, we organize for a New York where working-class New Yorkers can thrive.

We organize to win safe, dignified, and affordable homes, hold landlords accountable, and give tenants a real voice in the decisions that affect our lives.

Whether you're organizing your building, showing up for your neighborhood, or joining hundreds of tenants across the city to fight for change, every tenant has a role to play in building our collective power.

Why we fight:

Housing is a basic human need, not a commodity for corporate landlords to exploit for profit. We organize to put power back in the hands of tenants and fight for housing that serves the people who call it home.

• Safe, healthy, stable, and permanently affordable homes

• An end to evictions, displacement, illegal rent increases and buyout schemes

• The right for long-term tenants and their families to remain in their homes and communities

• The power to hold corporate landlords accountable

• Affordable housing removed from the speculative market and placed in community and tenant control

• A housing system that puts people before profits.
